Norrbotten is the largest of Sweden's counties. It covers the northernmost part of Sweden, including the province of Norrbotten and the northern part of Lapland. It is sparsely populated, with only 258000 people (2004) in 982112. A large part of the county is located north of the Arctic Circle, and hence enjoys perpetual sunlight in summer time.
